(Thunder Bay, Ontario) – September 10, 2015
September 1st marked the beginning of Levaero Aviation’s Company Fitness Challenge. Outfitted with Fitbit activity trackers to monitor their progress, the team hit the ground running on a four month challenge.
The Levaero employees wanted the challenge to benefit not only them personally, but also the local Thunder Bay community, so they decided to make individual charitable donations. Excited to share the benefits with the community, President & CEO, Robert Arnone, together with business partner, Steve Davey, Executive VP & COO, offered to match the employee donations and selected P.R.O. Kids in Thunder Bay as the recipient charity.
“We were encouraged with our team’s buy-in of the fitness challenge. It’s a fun way to stay motivated and promote health and fitness while at the same time supporting a great organization in P.R.O. Kids,” said Arnone.
Davey added “we thought of the idea after seeing the motivating effects that fitness trackers have on people. We thought it would be a fantastic way to enhance our team spirit while at the same time promoting health and wellness, and encouraging our employees to stay active. Not to mention, the competitive interactions amongst everyone involved is entertainment all on its own! We are proud of our staff for participating in the challenge and are especially proud of the more than $2,600 in donations raised for P.R.O. Kids.”
“We are always looking for new and innovative ways to raise awareness and support for our program. The folks at Levaero Aviation have come up with a great concept. We appreciate their support and wish them success in their challenge,” said Laura Daniele, Coordinator for P.R.O. Kids in Thunder Bay.
Levaero Aviation would like to challenge other businesses in Thunder Bay to support a similar program.
